
The SHWC offers COVID-19 vaccine appointments on a limited basis for UNT students. UNT students who received their first dose of the COVID vaccine elsewhere can receive their second dose from the SHWC but will need to provide proof of their first vaccination, including the date of initial vaccination and the manufacturer of the vaccine they received. This change is to minimize the waste of the COVID vaccine. Vaccine availability will be determined by the vaccine allocated by the State of Texas. Starting March 29, 2022, first and second doses of the COVID-19 monovalent vaccine will be during scheduled walk-in clinics only at the SHWC Clinic on the second floor of Chestnut Hall. Currently, the SHWC offers COVID-19 vaccines on a limited basis for UNT students. This means the SHWC will only serve students and will no longer offer COVID testing, vaccines, or boosters for faculty and staff. Starting May 16, 2022, the SHWC returned to pre-COVID-19 operations. Individuals who test positive for the virus should follow current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for quarantine/isolation and follow the treatment advice of their medical provider. the University will no longer offer contact tracing for positive test cases. Starting May 2, 2022, BINAX testing at the Frisco Campus will be available on a walk-in basis at Hall Park A, 2811 Internet Blvd. If the medical provider feels COVID testing is appropriate, they will order testing through the in-house laboratory. Students who need COVID testing should make an appointment to see an SHWC medical provider.
